Northeast China is the birthplace of the country’s industrial-robot industry. Shenyang is home to SIASUN, spun out of the Chinese Academy of Sciences’ Shenyang Institute of Automation — long the flagship of domestic robotics — set within a historic heavy-industry and equipment-manufacturing base.

The region carries deep mechanical and automation expertise; its challenge is translating that legacy into the software- and AI-led generation of robotics now emerging elsewhere.
